Glenn Maxwell has made a tremendous debut in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He played brilliant innings of 39 runs in the first match of RCB. There has been a big reveal about Glenn Maxwell's arrival at RCB.
In an interview with Danis Sait, Glenn Maxwell told how Adam Zampa had messaged Virat Kohli before the start of the auction to get me into the team. They told,
“ This is a very funny story. It was a night in New Zealand on the day of the auction. We were training in Quartin. Adam Zampa also had the RCB cap at that time. He took out that cap and the two of us took a photo together. Zampa sent that picture to Virat Kohli and said that he has to buy it. I have already given the cap of RCB to Maxwell ”
RCB bought Glenn Maxwell for a very expensive amount
Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Glenn Maxwell during the IPL auction for a very expensive amount. RCB spent 14 crores 25 lakh for Maxwell during the auction. During the auction, the first bid for Maxwell was made by Kolkata Knight Riders. After this Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore also showed interest. However, after reaching 4 crores 40 lakh, KKR and Rajasthan refused to bid further and there was a competition between RCB and CSK. In the end, RCB won.
Despite being a frequent flop for the past several seasons, everyone was surprised to see such a huge bid for Maxwell. However, due to his performance for Australia, he also received a lot of attention in the IPL.
